A call for proposals: projects of science and business partnership can get up to 100 k each

The Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, together with the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA), has launched the third call for proposals on technological development. It is estimated that the budget of one project will be able to reach up to 100 thousand euros. The projects will run until the end of 2022.

By funding the measure, the Ministry makes effort to strengthen science-business cooperation, promote the commercialization of scientific ideas, and therefore grants will go to applied research and experimental development (hereinafter – R&D). The projects will have to be coordinated by a research and study institution, with the help of business partners – small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports seeks to involve young scientists and researchers in the implementation of projects. One of the priorities in the selection of projects to be funded will be projects about the product or topic related to a research of a participating doctoral student.

In previous calls, funding was provided to 29 projects, with a total project funding value of more than 2 million euros. In the biomedical and agricultural science and technology projects there have been developed smart materials, innovative sensors, various advanced oxidations, 3D nano / microfiber, laser and other technologies, labeled antibodies for in vitro diagnostics of allergens, advanced cell therapies and other life sciences technologies.

The measure administered by MITA is financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports.
