Modern take on Verner Panton’s iconic Cloverleaf design
The season of outdoor living is here. Danish company Verpan has freshly released their outdoor-ready furniture pieces and throws designed by Verner Panton.
Panto Pop and Mirror Throws in fresh new colours
For 2021, Verpan has added new colours to the Panto Pop lounge chair and the Mirror throw – two products that are perfect for enjoying the outdoor season.
The Panto Pop is a playful stacking chair perfect for outdoor use. As a great example of Verner Panton’s tireless experimentation with materials, the monobloc plastic design raises its circular footprint into comfortable support for both back and arms. Its lightweight design makes it easy to move around and put to use in different spaces during the day.
Available in white, red and the new colours; dark green, grey and yellow the Panto Pop is ready for any design, no matter how bold and colourful.
The Mirror Throws are the perfect examples of design and comfort combined. The Mirror pattern is one of Panton’s most recognized. The Mirror throw is made from 100% New Zealand wool, a naturally sourced material of very high quality. Available in black, blue, yellow, orange and the new dark green and sand.
The reimagined icon – Cloverleaf In- & Outdoor
With the Cloverleaf In- & Outdoor sofa Verpan has created a modern take on Verner Panton’s iconic Cloverleaf design. The modular sofa is made from hardwearing polyethylene(PE) and is extremely durable, easy to clean and maintain and 100% recyclable.
Designed by Verner Panton in 1969, the Cloverleaf design stands out as one of his most unique works – sculptural, organic aesthetics and functional qualities combined in a modular sofa offering almost infinite opportunities for personal expression. The In- & Outdoor version is made from 100% recyclable PE and ready for the outdoors. Available in a wide selection of colours.
Sustainable & Practical
Plastic materials represents a large part of Panton’s design heritage and also plays a big role in the Verpan collection.
When handled responsibly, plastic can function as a sustainable choice, as it is a very durable material that ensures a long product life. Another advantage of using plastic materials is easy maintenance and the lightweight of the material ensures great mobility and flexibility.
For the Cloverleaf and Panto Pop, we implement recyclable PE and PP respectively, ensuring that products at end-of-life can be granulated and reused.
About Verpan
Verpan is a licensed manufacturer of designs by famous Danish architect and designer, Verner Panton. The Danish design company is, much like Panton, a product of the Danish design tradition, which have put Denmark on the map for functional, modern and unique design.
In close collaboration with the Panton estate, today managed by daughter Carin Panton von Halem, Verpan is the official licensee to a significant part of Verner Panton’s extensive back catalogue. It all began in 2003 when Verpan initiated the production of its first Verner Panton lighting range. In 2010, the company added a furniture line. An ongoing process of picking and choosing designs from the vast treasure chest of Panton’s work will ensure that the world will be able to see and appreciate much more of his work in the future.
About Verner Panton (1926-1998)
Among the giants of Danish design, Verner Panton established a unique reputation for his exuberant originality and tireless experimentation. Panton created lamps, furniture and textiles – and was also a sought-after interior designer. Although he was at the forefront of mid-century Danish Modern, Panton’s contribution was anything but mainstream. He enthusiastically embraced new materials, he splashed with a bold colour palette, and he playfully imbued many of his sculptural creations with a strong graphical expression – without ever compromising on quality or workmanship. Panton’s iconic designs have emerged as contemporary design classics – as strikingly inventive now as they were 50 years ago.
