Everyone had to hear what the most touched and contaminated surfaces in public places are: handrails, handles, buttons… In recent years, health and well-being have become more important issues, which is why solutions for clean, contactless work are becoming a significant part of the range of services. Some of the innovations that emerge during a pandemic offer hygienic solutions where they are most relevant.
UAB Schindler-Liftas presents CleanMobility – an innovation in contactless, sanitary, physically restricted elevator management and use. It increases safety and hygiene in elevators, escalators and moving walks. Solutions include smartphone applications for contactless elevator control, advanced transit control, air purification systems and ultraviolet sanitation, as well as options to limit the number of passengers. These services are designed for a digitally enabled world and provide greater efficiency and security as well as an improved user experience.

For example, with destination management applications, passengers can turn personal mobile devices into elevator buttons, and UV light keeps elevator cars, escalator railings, and other surfaces touchable and safe. We aim to give passengers a sense of security as well as help them adapt to the changing world of the city,” said Tom Oetterli, Schindler’s CEO.”
The CleanMobility range includes the following contactless operation solutions: Schindler ElevateMe app that allows passengers to call the elevator and select a destination by phone, CleanCall contactless sensors that eliminate the need for regular elevator buttons, and an expanded MyPORT Public app for Schindler PORT, leading Schindler to and building access control for elevators and non-contact buildings. Schindler CleanCover, an antibacterial protective film for elevator surfaces, is provided for better sanitation; Schindler UV CleanAir and Schindler UV CleanCar air cleaning systems that clean surfaces without the use of harmful chemicals. Schindler Ultra UV reliably and automatically disinfects escalators and moving walks. The solution for passenger spaces – Schindler CleanSpace – allows to change the parameters, thus limiting the load on the passengers in the cabin, in order to expand the individual space of passengers and promote physical distance.
