A special lightweight, waterproof roofing was chosen to ensure a minimum load on the roof structure. Polyurethane insulated panels made of rigid polyisocyanurate (polyurethane) foam (PIR) core were used to insulate the roof. Polyurethane panels are a durable and long-lasting thermal insulation material with excellent fire resistance and well adhesive. The light weight of the PIR board was an essential feature of the roof structure of an aircraft paint shop, as the roof supports stay low-loaded. The lightweight roof of the building and economical, load-bearing structures were the main goals in roof design.
