THE TRADE SHOW MUNICH FABRIC START

As one of the leading European textile trade fairs, twice a year MUNICH FABRIC START presents a qualitative portfolio of international fabrics and accessories manufacturers showcasing their newest developments and innovations in Munich.

From 08/31 – 02/09/2021 13,400 international visitors were inspired for the upcoming collections by the around 1,000 collections presented by some 600 exhibiting suppliers and manufacturers.

Around 800 manufacturers showcase a comprehensive range of textiles, accessories, finishings and sourcing solutions. This wide offer of specialist information and inspiration making MUNICH FABRIC START an international business platform in a unique trade show format. People in the field are happy to meet and participate in physical event after long months of digital work. Nevertheless, digitalization is already here and businesses is not going to completely come back to a state where they have been before pandemic.

It was actually the first Fair that I attended in 18 months and I must say, it felt right. But while some have embraced and naturally work with the digital twin of their physical company, others still struggle with it. Some still think that the come-back of the Fair will take away the pressure of building this new digital muscle. Some are still waiting for people to come to their booth so that they can show the newest design in fabrics and trims.  I expect very soon that customers will want to see the digital copy of the physical products shown so that they can develop in 3D and sell in virtual showrooms.

Joachim Hensch, Industry 4.0 consultant

“Our team is exhausted, but overjoyed: the biggest challenge in our company’s history lies behind us! We actually managed to realise a comparable MUNICH FABRIC START and BLUEZONE with the usual broad portfolio in these times! Until the very last moment, we focused on making the shows a reality – despite all the challenges, measures and ongoing planning uncertainty. All our efforts were rewarded with all-round positive industry feedback and we can say our Covid-19 compliant trade shows were a complete success. Of course, we kept our expectations cautious due to the situation – which is precisely why we are so overwhelmed by the great result! It seems as if the whole textile industry was cheering and so grateful to be able to experience a few hours of ‘business as usual’ again.”
