Pon.Bike have confirmed the intentions to build a factory in Kėdainiai
At the beginning of the year, it was announced that the world-leading bicycle company Pon.Bike plans to open a new factory in Kėdainiai in 2024.
Investors who came to Kėdainiai confirmed their intentions. The new production center will have a capacity of up to 600,000 bicycles per year, which will be produced for the company’s top brands, including Gazelle, Kalkhoff, FOCUS and Urban Arrow.
In its first three years of operation, Pon.Bike expects to hire around 300 people, and this number could rise to 500 in the future. According to A. Klangauskas, the new factory, which will be modern and up-to-date, should become the calling card of the Kėdainiai free economic zone.
Experienced bicycle manufacturer said they opened a similar plant in Germany about a month ago, so they know how to make the project as successful as possible. According to the representatives of Pon.Bike, if there are no obstacles, the first works should start already in the middle of this summer. According to them, the plant should be built and equipped by the end of next year, and by the beginning of 2024, bicycles should already be assembled in it.
